Washing Routine Tips

February is here on our doorstep already – can you believe it!  And most of us are back to work or school and getting back to our routines.  So February is a good month to review the importance of looking after your Earthing Sheet correctly and get into a good washing routine.  I have a few little tips here to help you remember when it’s time to wash your sheets and when to use the new Silver Care.

It is really important to keep the silver threads on the sheet clean because if they started being coated from body oils or creams the silver for will start to oxidise, just like when an apple goes brown when cut, and as the silver thread goes” brown” it will lose its conductivity and therefore will not be the conductor to connect your body to the Earth’s energy outside.

It’s not difficult to keep the sheet’s silver threads clean, however, sometimes we can forget to wash every two weeks and with the introduction of the new Silver Care it is recommended we use this every 4th wash, approximately every 8 weeks to protect and restore the silver fibres. Tip the whole bottle of Silver Wash in the machine and there is no need to use any other detergent.

I’m just like you – most of the time I’ll wash my sheets every 2nd week and sometimes due to “life happening” I may not……    So how are we going to remember to do a special wash every 8 weeks  as well as your fortnightly wash .

We’ll my simple solution to this is to buy some inexpensive stickers from your newsagent or two dollar shop, or you probably have some laying around from scrapbooking or kids work and put them on your "most looked at" calendar or keep a calendar in the laundry so that you know when your sheets are due to be washed.

Put a special sticker on the 4th wash so you know when to use your Silver Care.

I know this may sound trivial, but with time flying the way it is these days, our memory of 2 weeks can sometimes in reality be 3 or 4 and while the sheets may still seem clean the silver threads may not be.

Earthing Sheets Washing Tips:

  • From your next wash place a sticker on your calendar so you know when the wash is due – if you wash in between, every week, that’s fine.
  • Put a different colour sticker on the 4th Wash – So that will be 8 weeks from the week you start.  Go through and do the whole year – it will be a good guideline.
  • WASH a minimum of 2 x per month – washing more will not harm the sheet, in fact it is beneficial as the warm water strips body sweat and skin oils from the silver keeping it conductive
  • WASH in a Washing Machine in WARM water – The agitation of the machine and the warm water will dissolve oils, just like when you wash up the dishes, you wouldn’t wash a greasy pan in cold water.
  • WASH using a mild liquid “un-concentrated” detergent such as Earth Choice.  We are not promoting Earth Choice in any way, however, we have found that this detergent does not use a lot of oils as its base.  Natural and Eco Friendly washing detergents may use oils like coconut, lavender or eucalyptus which will build up and start oxidising the silver over time.
  • WASH with Silver Care Detergent only, every 4th wash
  • DRY – on the clothes line or in a dryer on “LOW” heat

NEVER , EVER USE BLEACHES, WHITENING DETERGENTS, WOOL WASHES OR FABRIC SOFTENERS – you will be sending your beautiful healing sheet to an early grave!

It really is simple and easy to keep your sheets in tip top condition by following these easy guidelines!
